Weak quantization of noninteracting topological Anderson insulator

We study the transition between two-dimensional topological insulator (TI) featuring quantized edge conductance and trivial Anderson (AI) induced by strong disorder. discover a distinct scaling behavior of TI near phase where longitudinal approaches value power law with system size, instead an exponential in clean TI. This region is thus called weak quantization (WQTI). By using self-consistent Born approximation, we associate emergence imaginary part effective self-energy acquiring finite at use our analytical theory, supported direct numerical simulations, to effect disorder range on insulator. Interestingly, while this quite generic for uncorrelated or short-range disorder, it strongly suppressed long-range perhaps explaining why has never been seen solid state systems.
